Join us for an unforgettable night of music, dance, and drama at the Maury Young Arts Centre as the students of Whistler Secondary School perform Mean Girls the Musical!
Now in their fourth year of musical productions, the WSS theatre group, led by director Conor Niwinski, will amaze you with their engaging performances and superb talent.
The Story: Cady Heron grew up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the social jungle of high school. In this comedic and sharp musical adaptation of the iconic film, Cady must navigate the treacherous world of cliques, where she encounters the reigning trio of "lionized frenemies" known as The Plastics, led by the charming but ruthless Queen Bee Regina George.
When Cady's new friends, Janis and Damian, convince her to infiltrate the Plastics and end Regina's reign, a hilarious and brutal "Revenge Party" ensues. But as Cady climbs the popularity food chain, she learns the hard way that you can't cross a Queen Bee without getting stung and risks losing herself in the process.
Mean Girls is a hilariously current musical, with a book by Tina Fey, that explores themes of social hierarchy, identity, and the importance of belonging. Packed with keen wit, an undeniably catchy pop-rock score, and vibrant dance numbers - including a tap dance number this year, this show is an anthem to friendship, loyalty, and being true to yourself.
